Hey little blog family!
As you can probably tell, my blogging has become quite infrequent. My life has just gotten really crazy and I haven't been able to find the time between things to write. When I started this blog back in November I did it to meet great people, which I have- but mainly to keep up with someone that I didn't see as often as I'd like to. But her life has changed and our friendship with that. Ties become undone- but that's ok! and with everything going on and changing in my life this baby blog of mine has taken a back seat... And that isn't fair! So here is a sign off from me go you. Maybe just for a short
while, or maybe longer, but until then.. Hugs*

let it begin.

Here is what I have to show so far, but as you can tell, I really like old architecture.  I especially love how this downtown is the same downtown from years ago when there were dirt roads! how fun to think about! I hope everyone is having a fabulous week! It is crazy around here, my sister is getting married next weekend! I can't wait to show you all pictures!

Guts

So many of you beautiful bloggers take beautiful pictures of some of the most interesting places. I have always been jealous of the talent and time you take to create beautiful pictures.

I look around every day and notice how many beautiful and unique places I pass daily! Everytime I just want to pull over and jump out and have a spontaneous picture fiasco! And then be able to leave relaxed, joyful and laughing. Sometimes I imagine songs that would be the soundtracks of these picture taking frenzies. But that is another story in itself.

My goal is to hopefully, some day soon be able to go off and spend a day immersed in these beautiful places... Like this old white washed barn that I drive by every day, a field of yellow wild flowers, the remainder of an old cowboy town on the outskirts of where I live, the beautiful horses that run in their pastures, exposed brick and vines over old downtown buildings, old painted signs, colorful doors, cobblestone walkways and twinkling lights. Don't they all just sound so inspiring? It sounds stupid that I am so busy I need to plan this spontaneous adventure, but hopefully I will be able to. Explore and create beautiful memories.

*oh and in case you didn't notice... No photos here to hold me accountable and remind me that I need them!*

P.S. The backstreet boys concert was awesome. Way better than when I was like 12 and saw then... Partly because now it isn't illegal to truly think they are so so hot!

a weekend update

this weekend was so relaxing but i did so much!

Friday I didn't have to work so I slept in, took my puppy for a walk, and caught up on Glee and So You Think You Can Dance.  That night I went out to a friends house to have dinner with a few people from my younglife team! Afterward my teammate J and I went downtown to meet up with some other friends for something called, First Friday.  It happens in the summer on the first Friday of every month.  Everyone comes out, and there are galleries open and live bands everywhere.  Also, our downtown was just revamped last year, so it is even more wonderful that I imagined!
Saturday afternoon my family and P went out for the first boat trip of the summer.  It included plenty of skiing, attempts at slolomn skiing and swimming. The afternoon was so beautiful on the lake. After, P and I cooked dinner for everyone!
This morning, we went to church, grabbed some lunch and headed home.  My mom and I went swimming at the gym and when I got home I had the sudden urge to go for a bike ride. So I caught up with P and his mom let me ride her bike and we were off! We rode through his neighborhood mainly, because I wasn't sure how comfortable I felt riding on the roads.
Now I'm sitting on the couch watching one of my all time favorite movies, The Notebook. This movie gives me butterflies every time I watch it.  It is such a portrayal of a beautiful, and genuine love.
 I am about to go downtown again with some great friends and see the Backstreet Boys! It could be lame, but I'm sure we will make the best of it! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

my bucket list.

“The use of traveling is to regulate imagination by reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are.” Samuel Johnson

“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” – Henry Miller

“Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.” – Miriam Beard

These are places I want to find peace in. I would love to travel the world, find places where I can be inspired. I want to find these places. Stay for a while and learn all about them. my bucket list.

a letter to you.

I've been a little mia the past month or so, because really this thing is consuming me. Literally making my stomach sink when i think about it. so I'm writing this letter to someone here to just get some things off my mind.

To you,

Do you remember how great things used to be? What happened? No body really understands. You were the one who told me, "nothing is better than this, don't let anyone fool you." And every day I live like this, why don't you anymore? Do you notice it isn't there, you can't spin it anymore.  What's it like over there, up there, in there? You've compartmentalized us out, and refuse to let us in. We are so close yet I feel we are on different sides of the planet.  Why did I have to find out like that, couldn't you just tell me? I just want to  understand. Not that anyone really can because we aren't you, but you have a way with words anyways, can't you pick up the phone, meet me and try to explain?  A letter would do, too-the old fashion kind. Do you remember how happy you were? Is that ball of curls a reminder of it? What's your take on it?

Love,
me

it's my birthday.

well yesterday was my birthday. happy birthday to me!
this is the first year ever i don't know what i want.
about a month ago, i made fun of P for not knowing what he wanted for his birthday
well that bit me in the butt.
i went shopping today after a wonderful weekend at the beach with one of my best friends, N.
of course all i bought were these super cute and inexpensive kate spade glasses and a shirt from banana for work & play.
but other than that, i got nothing.  i don't know why, but i can't think of what i want!
maybe it is because i have the travel bug and want to travel all around europe-
or maybe it is because the only taste i have seems to be an expensive one-
or maybe it is just karma since i told of P for not knowing what he wanted.
either way, i don't know what i want.
pretty lame i know, oh well!
at least this week is full of celebrations including family dinners, drinks with friends, dates with P, sex and the city 2 with friends, and who knows what else! can't wait!

so here's the thing

Sorry for the absence again! My computer is practically fried and I am just too scared to turn it on sometimes! I always think of these great things to write down, but they never actually make it on here... sorry about that.

so here are a few things I am loving this week!

{morning lattes from this coffee shop that used to be a news paper}

{work clothes-business casual of course.}

 {exploring downtown}

{feeling like an adult with a real job}

{spending me time at the gym}

{exposed brick}

{breathing fresh air}

{pushing myself to new heights}

{remembering all our laughs}

{getting up early and starting my day off right}

{cute new clothes for a cute new job}

 {high heels-sassy ones at that}

{open fields}

 {fresh cut tulips}
 {living vicariously through my friends' travels}

I hope everyone has a fabulous rest of the week and weekend! hopefully my computer will miraculously fix itself!

Oh, and I started my internship this week.  I LOVE it! I couldn't be happier! I feel like it is only going to get more challenging and rewarding as the weeks come at me!

the decision

 i decided to move home.
for those of you who have read this here blog prior to this post, you may know that i faced the difficult decision of figuring out where to live next year (i am a student who goes to school close to home) and i made the decision.
i compromised with the parents, and it seems like they are pretty excited to have me back but i am a little weary.
chores scare me, because living on my own i have made my own time to do my own things at my own pace.
it will no longer be that at home.
i will be on their time, in their environment and their home.
scary, but it will work with some patience.
the upstairs of our house is a mess.
one bedroom is empty and was deemed "wedding room" for my sister's upcoming "i dos"
and another is my sister's old room that has random things from her childhood
and my bedroom has a brand new queen size bed, and huge dresser, which completely take up the entire space
and did i mention that every closet is overflowing?
problem indeed.
my parents are graciously letting me redo my bathroom.
i won't show you a picture because it is that bad. moons and stars.
and hopefully we will get around to changing one of those bedrooms into an office space since i will need some sort of study area
and a bedroom?
we haven't exactly figured that one out.
i love the stuff i have right now but it doesn't fit in with any of the bedroom color schemes
and my parents of course painted/outfitted my room as soon as i left!
so here are some inspirations for what i hope to get out of this redo... more to come as the projects get underway, or even become written plans.

a new beginning

remember this little blog i made back in november?
sorry i have neglected you so!
it has been so weird not documenting the little things i think about randomly
but i am glad to be back.
after almost a month of cramming for exams and computer viruses
i am excited to be back sharing all the exciting things going on!
i could write a book of all the things i wanted to write about from etsy to vacations to surprises and laughs.
anways welcome back all you in this little family of mine
i have so much appreciated all the encouragement y'all have given me through twitter over the last little while.
can't wait to share all the sweet nothings about life i have started to open my eyes to!

if you get a chance google ipersonic and take the free personality test... it is ridiculously accurate! i did it with a few of my friends last night and oh my gosh the laughs we had! it is a great way to pass a little bit of time and it is only 4 questions.

tonight is my orientation for my summer internship at a public relations firm downtown.
i'm nervous excited and a little stressed about what i'm wearing.
business casual is supposed to be easy, but right now i'm struggling
and
all i want to do is slip some cute
skinny jeans, ankle boots and a cute top on
to head out, but i just can't bring myself to wear jeans to a firm!
ahh!
just a little bit of venting. i will jot a little later!

April 20, 2010

Don't be angry with me little blog and family, it is a little crazy around here with school wrapping up. I promise I'll be back once I'm a little less busy!! But on a brighter note, I wanted to let everyone know that I got my first pr internship for the summer! I am super stoked!!

sometimes i think to myself, self what you've got here is pretty great...

dear me,
life is great, don't forget that. ever. sometimes you do.
what you've got is a blessing compared to so many others in this world.
don't let people get in the way of your happiness, they aren't worth it.
if you have to do something extra to become someone's friend you don't need them.
waking up early with coffee and a good read, is your favorite way to start your day.

go outside even when the pollen makes you want to curl up in a ball and sleep.
don't underestimate the power of a good night's sleep, or a nap for that matter.
don't let people tell you that coffee and fancy drinks are bad for you, because they make you so happy, for some odd reason.
don't forget to smile at people, because when people smile at you it makes your day.

remember that you love the color green, especially in spring when it is more abundant that ever.
don't forget to tell your friends how much you miss them, and always make time for them.
just because sleeping is one of your favorite things to do, don't let it get in the way of life.
sing in the car with all the windows down, you love it.
don't forget that your puppy loves you, and will hug you anytime she can--and those walks you take with her, she loves them, and they clear your mind.

when you get frustrated, cleaning or going for a run is a lot better way to let your anger out that yelling and cursing, even if that's what you feel like doing.
don't be afraid of what you are thinking, even if it isn't the same as anyone else, be bold with your thoughts.
don't let creativity scare you, you're better at it than you think.
being fearless is hard, but it is a great way to live your life.
don't get too caught up with schedules, although they make you feel in control, you're not... the Man upstairs is
don't ever forget how much you love the short conversations you have at night with the man of your dreams, he always tells you he loves you, and you believe it even more each night.
you love your family, especially when you sit on the patio and talk about random nothings.

keeping your room clean makes you feel more relaxed, it is worth the extra effort.
when times get tough, pray.
Don't rely on yourself, we weren't designed to do that.
when you give others advice, make sure you are applying it to your own life.
remember to love yourself, if you're not loving yourself how can you love others?

April 7, 2010

thinking out loud.

do you ever get so caught up in the chaos of life that you forget to look around and notice how beautiful your life is?

I completely did that this week.

backstory:
I woke up complaining,
thinking that none of my friends loved me
(pity party, i know)
which is such a lie!
they all love me
just as much as i love them

sometimes we just need to sit and bask in the sun
give yourself enough space to actually let people in

if i stay too closed minded and caught up in selfish ambition
how will anyone even be able to get past my brick wall.
so today we were blessed with summertime heat
[attempting to ignore the pollen]
i sat outside in a field
basked in the sun
giving myself a break from chaos
and sure enough i saw a friend i hadn't seen in a while
what a beautiful conversation
with laughs and genuine compassion for each other
even though we both live two very different lives
seeing her smile after i hadn't seen her in almost four months
made my day...

what made your day?*

feet tuesday!

doing a little dance to celebrate a great and beautiful day!

March 30, 2010

its your love

about three years ago, i was given a key.
it wasn't made out of steel or wrought iron.
it was not heavy, but it was heavy in meaning.
three years ago i was given a key, cut out of paper.
simple. yet meaningful.
i was given the key to his heart.
three years ago he saved me.
he brought me out of the dark.
showed me the light of life.
and reopened my eyes to the love i was ignoring.
he broke down my walls.
built me up.
and gave me a key.
this key still means everything it meant that overcast morning i was given it in the parking lot of my high school.
this key is close to my heart.
i see it every day, and remember the day my life changed.

March 27, 2010

to be anywhere.

Greece.

i have always wanted to travel to greece.
i'll admit it stemmed from gilmore girls.
i love alexis bledel.
so sisterhood of the traveling pants...head over heels in love with it.
but in all honesty, who wouldn't want to be there?
it is romantic
authentic
and beautiful
forget that they don't speak english, i think i can manage...
i wish i could immerse myself in the cities on the cliffs.
and being there with you, would be the cherry to this sundae.

March 22, 2010

finally a chance to breathe
i stayed up late last night rewriting a paper... a paper i worked on for hours...and my final copy, took 30 minutes to write.

away from complaining. i still haven't uploaded the pictures from my break, but i will, don't worry!
&
there will be a dedicated post to my trip!

{via}

with only 6 weeks left in the semester
i have realized i can do it!
i got so bogged down and apathetic that i forgot to look at how blessed i am to even be where i am!
i have great friends, an awesome family, a beautiful dog, and a wonderful boyfriend
and all of them care for me so much!

other things i have learned this week:

i love leaving for a week when the weather is dreary, and winter is still sitting around, and coming back to spring!

i love getting in my warm bed and letting the blankets encompass my body, as i fall asleep

i love the smell of coffee in the morning
and listening to music to get me ready for the day

i love daffodils. they are finally blooming

i hate the smell the dogwood trees will have in about two weeks (which also just bloomed)

i love my parent's yard. the colors, sounds and smells.

March 20, 2010

ugh. school

 this beautiful weather we are having in lovely nc is wonderful, but i do not love the fact that i have 3 huge projects due on tuesday! two, of which i have yet to start.
so here's to a day of working hard on my back porch,
i will be showing you all pictures from this past week in beautiful sanibel soon!

March 16, 2010

enjoy it!

it's hard to say sorry for being away so long
when i'm in florida for the week!
But this i am,
and i am so sorry for no forwarning or anything!

right now i am sitting by the pool in Sanibel, Florida again!
my friend s and i have been enjoying the beautiful weather
(minus this crazy wind they have been having here).
 i will say that the sun is shining, i'm tanning, and enjoying the company...
so really i can't complain.
 i hope you are having a fantastic week and the weather allows you to get out and do something!

p.s. i'll be back for real on friday!
