let it begin.

Here is what I have to show so far, but as you can tell, I really like old architecture.  I especially love how this downtown is the same downtown from years ago when there were dirt roads! how fun to think about! I hope everyone is having a fabulous week! It is crazy around here, my sister is getting married next weekend! I can't wait to show you all pictures!

Guts

So many of you beautiful bloggers take beautiful pictures of some of the most interesting places. I have always been jealous of the talent and time you take to create beautiful pictures.

I look around every day and notice how many beautiful and unique places I pass daily! Everytime I just want to pull over and jump out and have a spontaneous picture fiasco! And then be able to leave relaxed, joyful and laughing. Sometimes I imagine songs that would be the soundtracks of these picture taking frenzies. But that is another story in itself.

My goal is to hopefully, some day soon be able to go off and spend a day immersed in these beautiful places... Like this old white washed barn that I drive by every day, a field of yellow wild flowers, the remainder of an old cowboy town on the outskirts of where I live, the beautiful horses that run in their pastures, exposed brick and vines over old downtown buildings, old painted signs, colorful doors, cobblestone walkways and twinkling lights. Don't they all just sound so inspiring? It sounds stupid that I am so busy I need to plan this spontaneous adventure, but hopefully I will be able to. Explore and create beautiful memories.

*oh and in case you didn't notice... No photos here to hold me accountable and remind me that I need them!*

P.S. The backstreet boys concert was awesome. Way better than when I was like 12 and saw then... Partly because now it isn't illegal to truly think they are so so hot!

a weekend update

this weekend was so relaxing but i did so much!

Friday I didn't have to work so I slept in, took my puppy for a walk, and caught up on Glee and So You Think You Can Dance.  That night I went out to a friends house to have dinner with a few people from my younglife team! Afterward my teammate J and I went downtown to meet up with some other friends for something called, First Friday.  It happens in the summer on the first Friday of every month.  Everyone comes out, and there are galleries open and live bands everywhere.  Also, our downtown was just revamped last year, so it is even more wonderful that I imagined!
Saturday afternoon my family and P went out for the first boat trip of the summer.  It included plenty of skiing, attempts at slolomn skiing and swimming. The afternoon was so beautiful on the lake. After, P and I cooked dinner for everyone!
This morning, we went to church, grabbed some lunch and headed home.  My mom and I went swimming at the gym and when I got home I had the sudden urge to go for a bike ride. So I caught up with P and his mom let me ride her bike and we were off! We rode through his neighborhood mainly, because I wasn't sure how comfortable I felt riding on the roads.
Now I'm sitting on the couch watching one of my all time favorite movies, The Notebook. This movie gives me butterflies every time I watch it.  It is such a portrayal of a beautiful, and genuine love.
I am about to go downtown again with some great friends and see the Backstreet Boys! It could be lame, but I'm sure we will make the best of it! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

my bucket list.

“The use of traveling is to regulate imagination by reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are.” Samuel Johnson

“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” – Henry Miller

“Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.” – Miriam Beard

These are places I want to find peace in. I would love to travel the world, find places where I can be inspired. I want to find these places. Stay for a while and learn all about them. my bucket list.

a letter to you.

I've been a little mia the past month or so, because really this thing is consuming me. Literally making my stomach sink when i think about it. so I'm writing this letter to someone here to just get some things off my mind.

To you,

Do you remember how great things used to be? What happened? No body really understands. You were the one who told me, "nothing is better than this, don't let anyone fool you." And every day I live like this, why don't you anymore? Do you notice it isn't there, you can't spin it anymore.  What's it like over there, up there, in there? You've compartmentalized us out, and refuse to let us in. We are so close yet I feel we are on different sides of the planet.  Why did I have to find out like that, couldn't you just tell me? I just want to  understand. Not that anyone really can because we aren't you, but you have a way with words anyways, can't you pick up the phone, meet me and try to explain?  A letter would do, too-the old fashion kind. Do you remember how happy you were? Is that ball of curls a reminder of it? What's your take on it?

Love,
me

it's my birthday.

well yesterday was my birthday. happy birthday to me!
this is the first year ever i don't know what i want.
about a month ago, i made fun of P for not knowing what he wanted for his birthday
well that bit me in the butt.
i went shopping today after a wonderful weekend at the beach with one of my best friends, N.
of course all i bought were these super cute and inexpensive kate spade glasses and a shirt from banana for work & play.
but other than that, i got nothing.  i don't know why, but i can't think of what i want!
maybe it is because i have the travel bug and want to travel all around europe-
or maybe it is because the only taste i have seems to be an expensive one-
or maybe it is just karma since i told of P for not knowing what he wanted.
either way, i don't know what i want.
pretty lame i know, oh well!
at least this week is full of celebrations including family dinners, drinks with friends, dates with P, sex and the city 2 with friends, and who knows what else! can't wait!
